A budget for Prague starts with what you want to do and the number of useful days in the city. Three nights with a late landing are different from three full days. Before the calculation, list the flight hours, number of meals outside the hotel, and the activities you have already chosen.

Four Publishing Groups

Separate between arrival and accommodation, transportation, food and activities. Within each group, mark a price that has been tested, an estimate, and a clause that you have not yet selected. An untested expense is not zero. Set a uniform currency to summarize and save the conversion rate you used for the estimate only.

Group What to Include What Not to Count Again
Flights and accommodation All passengers, rooms and luggage required Baggage already purchased at the rate
Transport Airport and Travel Program Travel included in the ticket you have chosen
Food Meals, drinks and scheduled breaks Breakfast included in the invitation
Activities Selected entries and tours A site seen from the outside only

Activities discussed in this guide

For a three-day Prague budget, decide which paid activities matter first. Compare a walking tour and museum ticket separately without assuming you need both. Check the full party total rather than only the per-person price.

Invoice example, not price list

Suppose that for practice only flights and accommodation cost 4,000 for all passengers, baggage 300, transportation 400, food 900 and activities 500. The sum is 6,100. If you choose to add a reserve of 500, the planning framework is 6,600. These are imaginary numbers that are not market prices or a recommendation for how much to spend in Prague.

Now change one decision: a hotel is expensive at 250 but includes meals that you would actually buy at 180. The difference in the example is 70, provided that everything else is the same. Don't cut the price of meals if you didn't buy them anyway. Changing the location of a hotel requires updating the transport as well.

City ticket only after route

Make a list of the sites you would like to enter, and only then check for combined tickets. Compare the exact products, duration of validity, and need for a place booking. A discount on a visit you will not make is not a savings. Also leave a day or half a day that does not depend on the paid sign-in sequence.

Where to adjust the frame

Choose what is important for you to keep: a place to stay, a special meal, or a particular visit. We looked at changes in the rest of the sections instead of lowering a uniform percentage of everything. You can shorten the list of activities, change the accommodation base or choose other flight hours, but you also need to see what you lose in time and comfort.

Enter the personal data inThe budget planner And flagged missing expenses. Before booking, double-check the amount for all passengers, the terms of payment, and the expenses not included. Save the version along with the date to know what changed next.

Decide in advance what you want to keep in the budget.

Choose two things you don't want to narrow down: a suitable room, a special meal, or a central visit. Changes can be looked at in the rest of the program. Thus the budget does not become a random list of concessions, but serves the reason why you wanted to come to Prague.

Separate between group cost and cost per passenger. A room, a ride, and an entrance to the site are not necessarily calculated in the same unit. List the amount next to each amount before connecting, and use the same passengers and the same days in both alternatives.

On the last day, leave room for departure-related expenses: transportation, baggage handling, or a meal according to plan. Don't assume that the entire budget of the day is gone because of the flight. On the other hand, it is not necessary to calculate it as a full day of recreation if most of it is dedicated to repetition.

Example scenario: Check the selection before committing

A couple prefer to keep a certain visit and to take down additional activity that is not important to them. It calculates the savings along with the transportation that is no longer required. It's a targeted change that can be explained. A small cut in each section may be less useful if it ends up hurting all the things for which the trip was chosen.

Work Questions and Practical Answers

Decision Point What to ask How to Advance
Personal preference What two ingredients do you want to keep even if you reduce it? Set priorities in words before changing amounts. It is easier to choose an alternative when you know what you want to conserve and not just how much you need to save.
Unit of calculation Is the amount for the group or for each person and for how many days? Write a quantity near each price and convert to a uniform summary currency. That way you don't accidentally hook up an expense to one person with a price for the whole group.
Day of Departure What expenses remain even when the day is dedicated to flying? Build for the day of departure separate lines according to the planned actions. A short day can still include food, transportation and baggage handling that needs to be entered into the estimate.
Combined savings Does removing activity also change the cost of transportation or food? Follow the consequences of the change over the rest of the day. Removing an activity may also change a trip or a meal, so it is best to recalculate the sequence.

Applying to your program

Choose a real day out of the trip and write down the decision at hand, the alternative and the detail still missing from the decision. Use the questions and answers on the table to find out. Don't turn unaccepted information into fact just to complete the program.

After the clarification, we also updated the actions surrounding the decision: through arrival, meal, free time or additional expense as applicable. Keep the version next to the bookings and make sure it still matches the dates and composition of the passengers. The plan can change; the important thing is to know what has changed and what decisions are affected by it.
